The campaign “LESS LETHAL” was created to demand the regulation of low lethality weapons used by the Brazilian police, such as pepper spray, tear gas, stun granades, rubber bullets, among others. Several cases of people gravely injuried by the abusive use of those weapons motivated the campaign.
Besides struggling for the regulation of less lethal weapons, the campaign aims to raise awareness about the damage they can cause, collect testimonials from injured people and instruct protesters on how to protect them selves.
02. The Campaing
The website’s main call to action is for people to give their testimonial about police violence. We collected hundreds of testimonials.
The campaign website ranks in Google pages for portuguese terms for “rubber bullet”, “stun granade”, “tear gas”, among others. Our goal is to instruct people on how to protect them selves in protests.
We produced journalistic videos, interviews and articles about the effects of the abuse of less lethal weapons.
